Peaceful, that is, until he runs into a fight with Madeleine - a hot-tempered survival fanatic who throws him to the ground while, in a more romantic sense, sweeping him off his feet.    A vibrant and acerbically funny subversion of romantic comedy norms, French filmmaker 'Thomas Cailley's' debut feature is a smart and unorthodox take on young love that took the top prize at 'Directors' Fortnight' during Cannes Film Festival 2014.

Adèle Haenel and Kévin Azaïs star in this French coming-of-age comedy. Mild-mannered Arnaud (Azaïs) is looking forward to a carefree summer of hanging out with friends in his small coastal town and working alongside his brother for the family's carpentry business. But after he meets tomboy Madeleine at a self-defence demonstration his plans change when he learns he will be working on her parents' house. As he becomes increasingly infatuated with their eccentric daughter, Arnaud decides to join her on a two week training course, led by Lieutenant Schliefer (Nicolas Wanczycki), for one of the toughest regiments in the army. The couple grow closer as they both hate their time in camp and Madeleine doubts her chosen career path, but will the young lovers still need each other when the time comes to leave?
