All 13 episodes of the series chronicling the life of Lillie Langtry (Francesca Annis). The daughter of the Dean of Jersey, Lillie enters London's high society following her marriage to Edward Langtry. After meeting Edward, the Prince of Wales and future monarch of England, she shakes Victorian society to its core by beginning a passionate affair with him. En route she meets some of the most celebrated figures of the day, including Oscar Wilde, James Whistler, Sarah Bernhardt and even Queen Victoria herself. She then goes on to have a relationship with Prince Edward's nephew, Prince Louis of Battenberg, before embarking on a career as an actress and completing a hugely successful tour of America.
