Indie comedy drama set in Long Island in the late 1970s. A semi-autobiographical coming-of-age tale written by brothers Derek and Steve Martini, the film focuses on two dysfunctional families, the Bartletts and the Braggs. The parents - Mickey and Brenda Bartlett (Alec Baldwin and Jill Hennessy) and Charlie and Melissa Bragg (Timothy Hutton and Cynthia Nixon) - are proving to be woefully inadequate role models for their children: Scott and Jimmy Bartlett (Rory and Kieran Culkin) and Adrianna Bragg (Emma Roberts). As Scott and Adrianna begin to discover the awkward joys of young love, their parents find themselves in an American dream-turned-nightmare as infidelity, family tensions and an outbreak of Lyme disease threaten to shatter the uneasy quiet of their affluent suburban neighbourhood.
Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 (Europe) or region Free DVD Player in order to play. Scott Bartlett lives in suburban 1970s Long Island, and has a long-standing crush on his neighbour Arianna. Against the backdrop of a Lyme disease outbreak, Scott s father embarks on an affair with Arianna s mother, to devastating consequences. Lymelife won the International Critics Award in Toronto, where Variety described it as violently funny... a leaner and meaner American Beauty , and the film was officially selected for Sundance.
