The complete first series of the US comedy following the struggles of Malcolm, a boy with the IQ of a genius, and his family. Though Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) has a love of learning, he dislikes being singled out for his intelligence as it attracts the ire of his schoolmates. As if being labelled a geek due to his association with the other smart kids of the school wasn't bad enough, Malcolm has to deal with the stresses and strains of a family led by his mother, authoritarian control freak Lois (Jane Kaczmarek), and his caring but childlike father, Hal (Bryan Cranston). The episodes are: 'Pilot', 'Red Dress', 'Home Alone Four', 'Shame', 'Malcolm Babysits', 'Sleepover', 'Francis Escapes', 'Krelboyne Picnic', 'Lois vs Evil', 'Stock Car Races', 'Funeral', 'Cheerleader', 'Rollerskates', 'The Bots and the Bees', 'Smunday' and 'Water Park'.

His older brother has been shipped to a military academy. His younger brother is a wound up oddball. With his parents constantly bickering, MALCOLM (Frankie Muniz) may be the only normal one in his family. Using direct camera address, wide angle distortion, and a machine gun delivery, this sitcom derived its popularity from pulling no punches when lampooning the dysfunctional family. This box set contains the complete Emmy-nominated first series. The comedy benefits from a strong supporting cast including Jane Kaczmarek as the matriarch.
