| DVD

Martin Clunes: Lemurs of MadagascarThey live only on Madagascar and one by one they are dying there. Impish precocious and endearing the planets last surviving lemurs have been cornered by man on a paradise island which has turned into their hell. Species by species they are disappearing. Only a miracle will save them all now. In this beautiful and deeply moving film Martin Clunes travels down to the Indian Ocean to witness what many fear is the lemurs last stand standing shoulder to shoulder with those who would save them from forces which are slipping rapidly... out of control. Martin Clunes: Man to MantaFor over ten years BAFTA award-winning Martin Clunes has escaped from the world of acting by SCUBA diving under the sea in the Maldives. A qualified diver he has like most divers become addicted to the silent parallel universe he finds there; with its absurdly vivid colours and its strangely alien inhabitants. But one resident of these warm blue waters has so far eluded him - the reef manta; one of evolution’s true masterpieces and yet still a creature we know virtually nothing about. If he’s lucky he will not only see one he'll watch and swim with dozens at the same time. Weighing as much as 5000lb and with a wingspan of up to 25ft it will be an extended intimate encounter with one of the most iconic species on the planet. Locked in a surreal blue ballet Martin comes closer to these gentle giants than he'd ever imagined possible; moved by their trust and intrigued by the many mysteries which still surround their lives. Martin Clunes: A Man and His DogsMartin Clunes (Doc Martin Men Behaving Badly) is passionate about dogs. It is an enthusiasm that has inspired him to embark upon a quest to discover the origins of man’s best friend. An epic dramatic and unforgettable adventure; this heartwarming series follows Martin from the Scrufts dog show in the UK all the way to America Australia and the wilds of Africa. Along the way he meets many of the 400 recognised dog breeds around the world from designer breeds to working dogs and he gets up close and personal with wild dingoes African painted dogs and a pack of wolves. Martin tackles his journey with passion warmth and his own inimitable humour. This emotionally charged programme is an absolute must for any dog lover. [show more]

Triple bill of documentaries presented by Martin Clunes. In 'Man to Manta', Clunes learns about the reef manta ray and the dangers it faces. He also attempts to get over his anxiety about diving in the hopes of seeing a manta ray up close. In 'Lemurs of Madagascar', he travels to Madagascar to learn about the last surviving lemurs in the world. With their environment under threat from deforestation and bushmeat hunters, these primates have become endangered. Martin investigates the issues affecting their existence and talks to conservationists working to protect the lemurs from extinction. In 'A Man and His Dogs', Clunes encounters a number of different dog breeds as he attends Britain's Scrufts dog show and then journeys to America, Australia and Africa.
