Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 or region free DVD player in order to play   This is the real life story of two people who stood up for their belief in the right to free speech taking on the mighty McDonalds who tried to silence them then sue them and then pay them off   The result the longest libel case in British legal history and huge embarrassment for McDonalds McSorry I dont think so McDonalds frequently used the UK libel laws to silence its critics Major media organisations such as the BBC and The Guardian quickly apologised when faced with the McDonalds legal team But when McDonalds sued Helen Steel and David Morris after they handed out leaflets about its business practises McDonalds found themselves in the middle of a PR debacle   What followed was the longest libel case in British history when two members of the public took on one of the biggest corporations in the world Every aspect of McDonalds business was cross examined from junk food to employee issues animal cruelty environmental damage and advertising to children The McLibel Two represented themselves against McDonald s £10 million legal team who tried every possible tactic to discredit them even resorting to spying   Seven years later in February 2005 the battle finally concluded in the European Court of Human Rights and the result took everyone by surprise including the British Government McLibel is not about hamburgers It is about the importance of freedom of speech McLibel is the story of two people who refused to say sorry and in doing so changed the world
