This unlikely meeting happened at the invitation of Louis Behre, maverick organiser of Crossing Border, one of Europe's finest music and literature festivals. The men were: ex frontman of 70/80s art terrorists 'Doll By Doll' Jackie Leven; authors Ian Rankin and Ciaran Carson; and founder of iconoclastic American band 'Pere Ubu' David Thomas - with support from long-term Leven colleague, the redoubtable multi-instrumentalist Michael Cosgrave.
