Mitsuko (Riisa Naka) is a young woman who believes everything will be okay and always tries to help those around her. One day, she met an American man and wanted to help him. They became involved in a relationship and she moved with him to California. A little later, her boyfriend left her and Mitsuko returned to Japan alone. Her parents, who runs a pachinko parlor, still thinks Mitsuko is living happily in California.Now, Mitsuko is nine-months pregnant, unmarried & almost broke. She has to move out of her apartment. Yet, Mitsuko still believes everything will be... okay. Mitsuko doesn't know where she will go, but she lays downs on a bench and watches where the wind blows. Mitsuko then knows where she will go. Japanese drama following the fortunes of a young woman who leaves her family to pursue a dream romance in America. Unhappily for Mitsuko (Riisa Naka) her attempts to build a new life in California fail and see her return to her home country alone and in the latter stages of pregnancy. Unable to face her parents, she continues to try and convince them over the phone that things are going fine in America while striving to provide for herself and the baby she is carrying. In spite of her own problems, Mitsuko continues to care for others. Whether nursing a sickly landlady (Miyoko Inagawa) or encouraging her friend, Jiro (Ryo Ishibashi), to declare his feelings to a girl, Mitsuko retains her faith in life and hopes to be rewarded for her endeavours.
