War epic telling the story of the coming-of-age of 18th century Kazak military strategist, Mansur (Kuno Becker) - later known as Ablai Khan. In the 18th century, the people of Kazakhstan are ruled by Mongolian invaders and divided by in-fighting. When Oraz (Jason Scott Lee) finds a baby boy who he believes is destined to unite the people, he trains him to be a fighter. Mansur goes on to become a mighty warrior and, along with his good friend, Erali (Jay Hernandez), attempts to unite the country's warring tribes and win back his nation's freedom.
