Don't miss this glorious opportunity to follow the development of possibly the best British comedy series we are ever likely to see. As box sets go, this is very, very special. It all started so unassumingly: the first series failed to set the world alight, despite being very funny. To the BBC's credit, it commissioned another run, and David Jason et al never looked back. "Only Fools and Horses" just got better and better. Each series surpassed the previous one, and most of the episodes featured in this fantastic collection were nothing short of hilarious. "Chance of a Lunchtime" is clever as well as funny, centering on a scam that any crook woud be proud of; "Yuppy Love" (perhaps the best-known and most-repeated episode) boasts a top-notch script and the funniest scene you could hope to see; and "Sickness and Health" demonstrates that writer John Sullivan is as adept at bringing a lump to the throat as he is at making you weak with laughter.
Although "Only Fools and Horses" has tailed off in recent years, this set reminds us just how brilliant it once was. If you want hours and hours of TV heaven, look no further. British comedy has never been better. Okay, this is no pocket money purchase... but it is difficult to imagine a better way of spending £49.99 upwards.
