All 24 episodes of the Japanese anime series, based on the manga by Nanae Chrono in which young Tetsunosuke Ichimura (voice of Yumiko Kobayashi)'s parents are viciously murdered, forcing him to seek out the legendary Shinsegumi swordsmen in the hope that they can train him to seek revenge. Locked into a deadly battle with the Choshu rebels, the Shinsegumi soon reveal themselves as equally violent and bloodstained, and Ichimura struggles between his need for vengeance and his desire for peace.
