This DVD featrues rare filmed trio appearances by two of the best exponents of modern jazz piano. Phineas Newborn Jr. and Duke Jordan. Phineas Newborn Jr. was an extremely gifted piano player and the inventor of the double octave technique who Leonard Feather once rated as one of the three greatest jazz pianists of all time. But his career was seriously marred by emotional and mental imbalance and he died in obscurity aged 58. Duke Jordan was primarily known for his late-forties recordings with Charlie Parker and for being the composer of the standard ""Jordu"".... He was a subtle inventive and melodic pianist.
