Western adapted for the screen by Clair Huffaker from his 1958 novel. A gang of outlaws wreak havoc in a town called Paradise, killing a number of the townspeople and taking local girl Helen (Zohra Lampert) hostage. It is left to gunslinger Banner Cole (Audie Murphy) to head a team of citizens hoping to bring the culprits down. However, as the mission becomes more dangerous, the numbers of the pursuing group decrease until Cole is only left with banker Seymour Kern (John Saxon) as his hunting partner.
