World War Two drama set in Australia. With the war already three years old and no end in sight, Rebel (Matt Dillon) is becoming sickened by the horrors of jungle warfare and believes that desertion is the only way out. While on the run, he meets and falls in love with beautiful singer Kathy (Debra Byrne), a girl he met in the Sydney's red light district. But the Military Police are closing in on Rebel and he must choose between escaping to freedom or risking capture by staying with the woman he loves.
