American drama starring Taylor Lautner as Rey Hightower, a man caring for his younger brother Oliver (Nico Christou) after his mother Lola (Constance Zimmer) is taken to jail for drug offences. Rey begrudgingly goes to see his mother in prison to allow Oliver to visit her, and finds that she is about to be released. Lola affirms that she will be returning to care for Oliver when she is set free, however Rey has other plans and demands to remain as guardian of his brother. Determined to give him the opportunities he never had and to ensure that he is taken care of, Rey makes off with his brother to the Californian coast, to start a new life and ensure the well-being and safety of his brother. Lola and her ex-husband Bo (Kenny Johnson) look to track them down, and reunite with her younger son. Rey battles with his urge to give Oliver what he wants, versus what he may need.
