When a gang of crazed, publicity seeking anarchists take a number of people hostage in a food store, they unwittingly grant celebrity status to one of the captured customers. Cliff Spab (Stephen Dorff) holds a TV nation in thrall with his wisecracking antics in the face of the terrorists, and his nihilistic one-liner 'So F***in' What?' becomes a rallying cry for disaffected youth across America. However, when the siege is over, Spab begins to crack under the pressure of having become a spokesman for a generation.
