One of the best horror/thriller films that you are likely to see. Unmissable!!! A simple concept of a film, which provides a thought provoking plot, an outstanding debut film by the directors on such a low budget. You have to have this in your dvd collection.

SAW is a film which could easily have passed you by due to lack of hype. Quite often, great films are not seen as 'great' until word of mouth spreads and lots of people start watching them. I urge you to watch!

When you do watch SAW you should be prepared to feel uncomfortable in more ways than one. For what is essentially a suspense/thriller, there is a lot of blood and gore (perhaps a bit unnecessarily at times) and some nasty deaths involved so stay away if you are feint hearted! That said, you will be well rewarded for sticking with it. The plot is tense and exciting, not 'run of the mill' and the twists (and there are a few) are truely fantastic. I have only watched two films that have had me screaming at my TV and this is one of them.

I watch a lot of films and SAW is the first film in a long time that has got me really excited. I was on my mobile recommending it as soon as the credits were rolling and I've been recommending it to people left, right and centre ever since, and I'm sure you will be to.

This tense horror is the directorial debut for James Wan, and the first screenplay written by actor Leigh Whannell, who also stars. Two men, Adam (Whannell) and Dr Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes), wake up to find themselves chained to pipes in a room they have never seen before. Between them lies the dead body of a man with apparently self-inflicted gunshot wounds. As they begin to piece together the circumstances that led to their predicament, the pair realise they are the latest victims of a serial killer known as the Jigsaw, who orchestrates situations in which his captors will be driven to kill each other. They also learn that the killer has taken Gordon's family hostage. How can the men possibly outwit this sadistic psychopath in time to save themselves and the hostages?

The dvd release of 'Saw' as shown in UK cinemas.
