Children's fantasy feature based on characters from the ballet by Tchaikovsky. When Christmas comes around, 12-year-old Clara (Janelle Jorde) is left longing for her father, who is abroad fighting in the Second World War. When she meets Drosselmeyer (Brian Cox) with his bag of magical gifts, Clara makes a special wish to see her father again. But can a simple wish possibly have the power to bring about the Christmas miracle Clara has been longing for?

Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 (Europe) or region Free DVD Player in order to play. It's Christmas in Snowy Valley but the Second World War means 12-year-old Clara is left longing for her absent father. When she receives a postcard from him at the town's Post Office she is overjoyed and runs home to show her mother and two little brothers. On the way she meets Drosselmeyer (Brian Cox) and with his gifts of magic and a wooden Nutcracker, Clara wins a special wish to see her father again. But can Clara convince her father to believe in Drosselmeyer and the power of magic so that the whole family can have a Christmas miracle of their own?
