Adrien Brody and Salma Hayek star in this adaptation of Dalia Sofer's novel based on a true events. The story follows the impact of the 1979 Iranian Revolution on a wealthy Jewish family. Jeweller Isaac (Brody) and his wife Farnez (Hayek) send their son to an American boarding school but remain behind in Iran themselves along with daughter Shirin (Ariana Molkara). When Isaac is arrested and tortured by the Revolutionary Guard, Farnez investigates, hoping to get some answers while trying to avoid capture herself. Will the family be able to make it safely out of the country?
