The emergence of a serial killer offers police captain Laure Berthaud (Caroline Proust) the chance to restore her damaged reputation. Unfortunately, the investigation doesn't go well and she soon finds herself struggling to hold onto the case as well as her own sense of reality. Meanwhile, Judge Roban (Philippe Duclos) stumbles upon evidence that the mayor might be involved in a corruption scandal. Prosecutor Machard (Dominique Daguier) attempts to lean on Pierre Clement (Gregory Fitoussi) for assistance in silencing the judge, but the anti-corruption Clement refuses, leading Machard to hatch plans to get rid of his idealistic subordinate.
