Dick Powell directs this 1950s thriller starring Stephen McNally. Notorious killer Sam Hurley (McNally) escapes from jail with fellow prisoner Bart Moore (Paul Kelly), who is injured in the process. They wind up in a ghost town with a small group of hostages in tow. When Sam finds out one of his captives is married to a doctor he attempts to get Bart medical attention. The situation only intensifies with the realisation that the government are planning to carry out an atomic bomb test in the town in a matter of hours. Will everyone make it to a safe distance before the bomb explodes?
