Spork DVD

| DVD

A close cousin to Glee, Spork is colorful and foul-mouthed feature musical comedy about those of us who don't fit in. Spork is a frizzy-haired, pink-cheeked outcast who is trying to navigate her way through the annals of junior high. When a school dance show provides a chance for Spork to show up a mean girls gang, her trailer-park neighbour steps up to coach her with some booty-poppin moves.Featuring a vintage 90's soundtrack (that includes 2-Live Crew, JJ Fad's SuperSonic, Dimples T's Get It Girl), a score by Casey James and the Stay Puft Kid; and extended school... hall dance sequences, Spork is a warm-hearted film that'll make you stand up and cheer. J.B. Ghuman Jr. writes and directs this feelgood musical comedy about a 14-year-old oddball trying to steer her way through the pitfalls of Junior High. With her frizzy hair and odd clothes 'Spork' is not the most popular girl at her school. Endlessly picked on by a group of her peers, Spork's chance for retribution arrives when her next-door neighbour and best friend, Tootsie-Roll (Sydney Park) is forced to pull out of the school dance-off in which she was going to compete. Rising to the challenge, Spork, with the help of some killer moves and coaching from her neighbour, moves out of the shadows and onto the dancefloor to take on her arch-enemies.
