Czech filmmaker Jan Svankmajer ('Alice', 'Faust') writes and directs this surrealist arthouse animated comedy poking fun at the psychoanalytical interpretation of dreams. Eugene (voiced by Václav Helsus) is a happily married middle-aged man who becomes obsessed with a beautiful young woman dressed in red (Klára Issová) whom he meets in one of his dreams. As he tries all manner of techniques, including psychoanalysis, to ensure that he can keep dreaming about the woman, his wife becomes convinced that he is being unfaithful to her in real life. Meanwhile, framed portraits of Freud and Jung look down on Eugene's therapy sessions from the psychoanalyst's wall, expressing their approval or disapproval according to which methods are being employed.
