1987 remake of the 1941 Hitchcock classic, starring Anthony Andrews and Jane Curtin in the roles originally played by Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine. Lina McLaidlaw (Curtin) meets the suave, charming playboy Johnnie Aysgarth (Andrews) on a train and the two fall head-over-heels in love. It's not long after they're married, however, that doubts start to enter Lina's mind. Johnnie is not the successful estate manager that he claimed to be. He is, in fact, up to his eyeballs in gambling debts and has developed a strange interest in poisons and murder mysteries. When Johnnie's friend Beaky (Jonathan Lynn) meets an untimely death, Lina begins to fear for her own life...
