Tad is a Chicago construction worker who has always dreamed of being an explorer but his constant daydreaming gets him fired from his job. Tad’s friend Professor Humbert receives a letter laying claim to the missing half of an ancient relic which is said to unlock a legendary lost city in Peru. When Professor Humbert suffers an accident Tad finds himself travelling to Machu Picchu to discover the lost city himself hoping that he can finally become a real explorer!

Animated adventure following the escapades of amateur explore Tad Jones (voice of Kerry Shale). Tad lives in Chicago and works in construction, but dreams of becoming a famous explorer like his hero Max Mordon (Adam Jones). His wish is granted when he takes the place of a professor on a flight to Peru to unlock the legendary Incan city of Paititi with the help of Mordon, Professor Lavrov (Mac Macdonald) and his daughter Sara (Ariel Winter). Tad's new job is not as easy as he dreamed though as the group are pursued by henchman from the evil firm Odysseus Inc. who are also out to explore the lost city and be the first to find any treasures it may hold. Will Tad be able to overcome the distractions of working with Sara and his hero to battle the corporation and their evil tricks so they can reach the ancient city before it is lost forever?
