Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro and Juliette Binoche star in this drama based on the 2010 San Jose Mine accident in Chile. 33 men are working in the unstable San Jose Mine when it collapses, trapping the miners inside with no means of escape and very little food. Mario (Banderas) takes charge of the situation and does his best to ensure the safety of his colleagues, splitting the food into rations and diffusing any tension. With the miners' families arriving on the scene and demanding action be taken to save their loved ones, the government sets up a rescue operation, but it will be over two months before any of the men make it to the surface again. Will they all survive the ordeal?
