In 1912, a travelling Presbyterian minister named George Kelly was twice put on trial for the brutal murder of eight people at the Moore family home in Villisca, Iowa. In both cases Kelly was acquitted. A century later, three teenagers decide to take a tour of the infamous house in Villisca, but when two bullies determine where the teens have gone, they attempt to surprise them in the house. Instead, they awaken the vengeful spirits residing in the building and all of them are caught up in the terrifying chaos.
