"The Burb's" must be the least well-known film by Tom Hanks, although it has to be my favourite.
Ray Peterson's neighbours the Klopek's are quiet and mysterious, ater living in the cul-de-sac for over a month nobody has seen them enter or leave the house. Apart from Ray's young son who watches the Klopek's digging in their back garden in the dead of night.
Ray's two friends invent several theories that the Klopek's are offering their neighbours as ritual sacrifices. The comedy begins here.
After raiding through their neighbours bins and inviting themselves to the house, Ray and his wife Carol begin to doubt the theories.
Although when Vince, the family's dog, digs up a bone from the Klopek's yard things change dramatically...
A must see, the drama and comedy in this film work together brilliantly. WATCH THIS FILM!!

Joe Dante directs this late 1980s comedy horror starring Tom Hanks and Bruce Dern. Life is pleasant, if dull, in the suburb of Hinckley Hills until the weird Klopeks move in next door to Ray Peterson (Hanks). When Ray decides to spend his week's vacation relaxing at home, he soon allows himself to be persuaded by his other neighbours that the Klopeks are in fact marauding killers, and joins in the suburbanites' investigation. The film also stars Carrie Fisher and Corey Feldman.
