Matheson Lang and Eric Portman star in this historical British drama directed by Sinclair Hill. Set in Rome in 1570, the film charts the rivalry between Cardinal Giovanni de Medici (Lang) and General Belmonte (Robert Atkins). The General carries out a brutal murder and confesses his sins to the Cardinal but rather than accept the punishment for his crime, the General has the Cardinal's brother arrested for the murder. With the Cardinal bound by the Seal of the Confessional, is there anything he can do to oppose Belmonte?
