Based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft 'The Darkness Beyond' begins in 1571 when a section of the book The Necronomicon is translated and man is able to stir up the forces of darkness. The film then moves to the future where chaos and violence is breaking out among parts of the population and the source of this chaos - The Necronomicon. The film then becomes a surreal nightmarish and gory journey into the Beyond as a group of untainted humans seek to stem the book's power!
