The Definitive Boxing Legends 4 DVD Box Set - Fabulous Four Hagler, Hearns, Leonard & Duran, Tyson, Muhammad Ali and The History of Heavyweight Boxing DVD

| DVD

Fabulous Four Contains archival footage from the '70s and '80s amassed by promoter Bob Arum. Focuses on the decade-long four-way rivalry between Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Thomas Hitman Hearns and Marvellous Marvin Hagler. Mike Tyson Tyson rose from a boyhood of dire poverty and crime to become the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history and one of the richest and most famous athletes on the planet. But no sooner had he reached the top of the professional ranks than everything started to fall apart. Two marriages came and went, his championship slipped... away, and his career descended into a carnival of crooked promoters, femmes fatales, assaults, prison and, after winning more than $300 million in his career, bankruptcy. Even at the age of 40, Mike Tyson continued to fight to pay his bills. His fall is famous, but the reasons are as complex and misunderstood as Mike himself. This fascinating documentary looks at the man whose spectacular rise and fall has fascinated the world like that of no other. Muhammad Ali: Champion of the Century Ali was “The Champ”; arguably one of the greatest heavyweight fighters of all time and one of the most charismatic and recognisable personalities the sport has ever had to offer. Follow Ali from the beginning through to the heights of his career, with stunning footage of some of the best fights of his career. Watch him battle against Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, Henry Cooper, Floyd Patterson, Doug Jones and Chuck Wepner (the real Rocky Balboa) to name but a few. Ali was perhaps more famous out of the ring as he deployed his considerable personality to taunt his opponents and shamelessly boast of his own prowess. As a celebrity, he was larger than life. This programme is peppered with interviews and press conferences where you can watch as Ali exhibits his famous flair. This programme is a must have for any boxing fan. History of Heavyweight Boxing Dangerous, exciting and often controversial, the Heavyweight division has always represented the peak of the sport. The biggest fighters battling it out in the ultimate contest of strength, endurance and skill. This programme chronicles the history of heavyweight boxing from its origins, through to the careers of some of the sport s most influential boxers of their generation, including Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson. With exciting archive footage of some of the biggest heavyweight fights of all time, such as Floyd Patterson s defeat against Ingemar Johansson and his subsequent victory, and several of Mohamed Ali s most famous fights: from his unexpected victory over reigning champion Sonny Liston (as Cassius Clay) to his epic bouts with long time rival Joe Frazier. Packed with fight footage and bursting with action, this DVD is a must have for any boxing fan. [show more]

Collection of documentaries about the world of boxing, focusing on some of the sport's greatest champions. 'The Fabulous Four' profiles four legendary boxers - Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Thomas 'The Hit Man' Hearns and 'Marvellous' Marvin Hagler - whose rivalry commenced with the 'Brawl in Montreal'. This was the contest which saw an over-confident Leonard lose his crown to Duran. Hearns had lost out to Hagler in 1985, and it was the latter who Leonard selected to take on in his comeback for the World Middleweight Championship. 'Muhammed Ali: Champion of the Century' examines the career of the great boxing showman. Tracking his rise to superstardom through some of his most memorable encounters, including his fights with Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, Henry Cooper, and Floyd Patterson, the film shows the consummate performer at his very best, both inside and outside the ring. 'The History of Heavyweight Boxing' chronicles the history of this division, from its origins through to the careers of some of the sport's most influential boxers, including Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson. The film features archive footage from some of the biggest heavyweight fights of all time including Muhammad Ali (as Cassius Clay)'s unexpected victory over reigning champion Sonny Liston and his epic bouts with long-time rival Joe Frazier. 'Tyson' profiles the eponymous and controversial boxer, undisputed World Heavyweight Champion between 1987 and 1990. The programme includes footage from Tyson's championship fights with Buster Douglas, Michael Spinks, Trevor Berbick and Lennox Lewis, as well as interviews with 'Iron Mike' himself.
