This typical but well-made action movie, which spawned numerous sequels, means to combine the best elements of the disaster movie with the hard-boiled attributes of traditional action-adventures. When a plane is hijacked to the Middle East by Palestinian terrorists, the Pentagon calls into action the Delta Force, an elite squad of highly trained commandos led by tough guy mainstay Lee Marvin and karate-action-star Chuck Norris. Their mission is simple: to thwart the terrorists and rescue the hostages and the plot concentrates largely on just that, as the team uses... its experience and fighting skills to get the job done. Its sometimes preachy patriotic bent occasionally gets in the way of the action and Norris is a one-dimensional figure who at times takes himself too seriously, but his rapport with easy-going veteran Marvin moves the film over some implausible rough spots. This film is one of my favourite films alongside delta force 2 the colombian connection. the film stars chuck norris (as i say you cant beat a bit of chuck!) waging war on a deadly south american drug cartel run by notrious drug dealer Ramon Cola. so as not to spoil it too much People get kidnapped and Delta Force mobilise to action. The film has alot of fight scenes and explosions and has a good storyline. I would say this is a must have film if you enjoy action films as it is one of the original and best of its era in my opinion.

A 707 aircraft jetliner on its way from Athens to Rome and then to New York City is hijacked by Lebanese terrorists. The terrorists demand that the pilot take them to Beirut. Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin form a special military task force to rescue hostages from a hijacked plane. This leads - quite naturally - to chases, stunts, and a healthy dose of martial arts action. Based on a real event, the 1985 hijacking of a TWA jet in Athens, but adapted to include Chuck Norris' specially customized rocket-launching motorbike.
