When Captain David Dillon's jeep runs out of fuel by a grand house he has no idea what is waiting for him on the other side of the imposing front door. British film noir starring Anne Heywood and Robert Arden. While stationed in England, handsome US Army Captain David Dillon (Arden) meets Tom Wilton (Basil Dignam) and his much younger wife Laura (Heywood). David quickly realises that Tom, an alcoholic, is physically and verbally abusing Laura. David and Laura embark on an affair, and she persuades him to help her kill Tom by staging an accident made to look like the result of Tom's drunk driving. But the plot does not go as planned, and David finds himself caught in a deadly web as dark secrets emerge from Laura's past.
