Original members Levi Stubbs Renaldo 'Obie' Benson Lawrence Payton and Abdul 'Duke' Fakir first sang together in Detroit in 1954 calling themselves The Four Aims. Two years later they changed their name to The Four Tops and the rest is popular music history. As a live attraction The Four Tops attracted capacity audiences wherever they appeared in concert around the world. The original line-up performed together for 44 years until Lawrence Payton's death in 1997. Sadly soon afterwards lead singer Levi Stubbs had to retire from the band because of ill health and Renaldo Benson died in 2005. The Four Tops continued under the astute musical leadership of original founder member Abdul 'Duke' Fakir who recruited Roquel Payton (the son of founder member Lawrence Payton) Theo Peoples (formerly with The Temptations and who took over lead vocals) and Ronnie McNair. This DVD captures this particular line-up of The Four Tops at their electrifying best reprising all the evergreen hits in concert. It includes a brief emotional appearance by former lead singer Levi Stubbs.
