Following the widely publicized incarceration of the Chicago state attorney for a series of sex and corruption scandals, his wife must now reinstate her career in an attempt to protect the family name and provide for her two children. This cleverly written drama captures the struggle of a middle aged woman as she attempts to build a career from the bottom of the ladder amidst both a personal and family crisis.

Julianna Margulies stars as the resilient and resourceful Alicia Florrick, whose life falls apart when her state attorney husband Peter (Chris Noth) is sent to jail after becoming involved in a very public sex and political corruption scandal. In order to support herself and two teenage children, Alicia goes back to work as a defence attorney and proceeds to rebuild her life - and her independence - case by case.
