Two days before his wedding, Doug and his three buddies drive to Las Vegas for a night they'll never forget. The next morning, the trio must attempt to retrace their bad decisions and hopefully get Doug back to Los Angeles in time for his wedding.
Hilarious. One of the funniest comedies I've ever seen. It's like 'dude where's my car' except you get to find out what they did the night before!
A Good original piece of comedy with a lot of really funny scenes.
Quite random in places but well worth watching with friends.
Lessons learnt are lessons well worth remembering!
An intelligently written Bachelor Party movie that is different at last!
It seems that these days a fresh new comedy is hard to come by, most comedies seem to be written to a formula and have nothing new. Many a night I have sat and endured 90 minutes of 'blu-print' comedy and although you know what you are getting with these type of comedy films they do wear thin after a while.
That is what I expected with The Hangover... however this was thankfully different. It had me laughing out loud throughout the film for the first time in a long while.
This may sound silly but for me it was written a little like 'Memento' one of my favourite all time films (except not going back in time) it has lots of things you end up trying to piece together about the night out in Las Vegas and at the same time creating and showing the mad scenarios the central characters get themselves into.
A must see comedy for anyone who is bored of the same old rom-com or slapstick comedy. More of this type of film please! (Although I now fear this may become the template for comedy films of the future)... you just can't win.
The Hangover is the best movie I have seen in a long time. It made me laugh throughout the whole movie. It is a wicked!
I didn't go into this with high expectations, thinking it would be just another in the long line of Apatow-type comedies, which are generally fun on 1st viewing, but have very little replay value.
I'm happy to say that this film bears many repeat viewings! All the leads have a natural camaraderie and whilst you can see a lot of the set pieces coming, they'll still tickle your funny bone every time.
Whenever Mike Tyson turns up, things get very surreal - I don't know if it's because Tyson is just a very bad actor and nobody dared to tell him, but his scenes definitely have a certain 'quality' to them - but this just adds to the overall enjoyment to be honest.
And it's got a tiger in it and I like tigers, so the film automatically gets a good review.
Definitely worth a purchase as the DVD extras are bound to be loads of fun too.
The Hangover is such a great movie for men and women. I think it was so funny, I was glad that I went to the pictures to see it. It is an all rounder action/comedy movie. It has a great cast that are believable as a group of mates. It has good 1 liners and very funny scenes which all the actors take part in, they all bring their own bit to the movie to make it what it is. It's 1 for my DVD collection and I will be watching it more than once. A great movie to make you laugh your pants off!
A bunch of friends (Phil, Stu, Alan) wake up in Las Vegas after a stag night and try to recall the previous nights activities for any clues as to where they can find the groom (Doug) who has disappeared.
Verdict
The Hangover is one of the best comedies of the year; it's a great bro-mantic laugh that combines rude/crude ladishness with smart humour - not just for the boys!
