Castleton Knight directs this 1920s drama following the unfolding of a love triangle. Fisherman Tom Roberts (Ray Milland) is happily engaged to his childhood sweetheart but his life changes dramatically the night he heroically risks his own safety to save Claire le Grange (Mona Goya), a Frenchwoman whose ship has been wrecked on the perilous Goodwin Sands. Tom sustains significant injuries during the rescue and builds a strong bond with the bold and beautiful Claire as she visits him throughout his recovery. When this causes some problems with his bride-to-be Tom will face some tough decisions as he looks to the future...
