Bing Crosby was hired to host a live music extravaganza on CBS Television shortly after Ford unveiled the Edsel motor car after years of hype and hoopla. Joining Crosby were old pals Frank Sinatra Rosemary Clooney and Louis Armstrong with ""surprise"" visit by Bob Hope who were all at the peak in their careers at the time and ""The Edsel Show"" telecast was one of the highest rated and well regarded programs of the year.
