Australian adventure drama in which a young man must prove his worth to inherit his father's land after he was accidentally killed attempting to catch a wild horse. Jim Craig (Tom Burlinson) goes to work on the lowlands after being told by the mountain men that he must do so to claim his right of inheritance. During his time there, Jim begins work at a station owned by a man named Harrison (Kirk Douglas) where he meets his daughter Jessica (Sigrid Thornton) and the two fall in love. After Jim accidentally allows a prized horse to escape, Harrison is furious and tells Jessica that she will be sent away to an all-girl's school and Jim will be dismissed. Can Jim continue his quest to prove his worth in the lowlands and claim his rightful land at last?
