Adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's novel. Santiago (Anthony Quinn) is an elderly fisherman who has not had a catch for 84 days. He is gradually caught up in an epic battle with a giant marlin, as he attempts to capture the fish and regain his livelihood and his dignity.
