The Grammy award-winning group from California is best known for their eclectic mix of pop music disco jazz bebop blues country soul funk dance new wave and rock. The sisters began touring and performing in the early seventies and provided backing vocals for such artists as Grace Slick Sylvester James Boz Scaggs and Elvin Bishop eventually becoming an established group in their own right. In 1974 The Pointer Sisters attended a three-day Black and Latin music festival in Kinshasha Zaire which also coincided with the famous 'Rumble in the Jungle' boxing match between...
