British horror in which a mystical book has the power to bring inanimate objects to life. After Adolf Hitler hears of the book's power, he instructs the SS to find and retrieve it. With British intelligence on the case, they send a secret agent to put a stop to the plans. Informed that the toymaker who has the book in his possession will be boarding a train from Munich, both the British and SS agents set out to intercept it. But as the toymaker becomes wise to their efforts, he animates a doll named Robert, who is tasked with protecting his master at all costs.
