Ian Richardson stars as the Baker Street sleuth in this 1983 adaptation of the novel by Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes (Richardson) is intrigued when he is consulted by young Mary Morstan (Cherie Lunghi) who has received a gift from a mystery correspondent each year since the disappearance of her father.
