This is the third chapter (from 2011) of this hugely popular supernatural TV drama series which is based on the book of the same name by L. J. Smith. Set in Mystic Falls, Virginia, the focus of the main thread of the story concerns an obsessive love triangle involving vampire brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore who have fallen for the same beautiful girl, Elena Gilbert.
The third series concentrates on Klaus's story particularly his relationship with The Original Family and features most of the original regular cast. With Stefan succumbing more and more... to Klaus's influence, helplessly and compulsively yielding to the powerful draw of the Dark Side, Damon and Elena's relationship begins to grow as they unite in their battle to try to bring him back from the brink.
