All eight episodes of the second season of the anthology crime drama created by Nic Pizzolatto. In this season, set in California, Detective Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell), Detective Sergeant Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) and Highway Patrol Officer Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) investigate the murder of bent city manager Ben Caspere. Career criminal and the dead man's business partner Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn) discovers that over $5 million he gave to Caspere has been embezzled, money with which he was planning to invest in a rail deal in order to set him and his wife Jordan (Kelly Reilly) on the straight and narrow. Hoping to get his money back, Frank begins his own investigation into the murder. Each of the characters also has to deal with problems in their personal lives.
