Stanley Donen's popular 1960s romantic comedy chronicling the ups and downs of a marriage. Albert Finney and Audrey Hepburn star as the Wallaces, a couple who have been together with varying degrees of satisfaction for the last 12 years. Architect Mark (Finney) and musician Joanna (Hepburn) first met in Europe, where Mark was backpacking and Joanna was studying music - and over the years they have continued to love each other, but are unsure if they are still 'in love'. The film uses a non-linear structure, jumping between the couple's honeymoon, their initiation into parenthood, their separate infidelities, and the present, in which they reminisce together, analyse their unravelling marriage and decide whether it's worth continuing.
