The year is 1962. Aristocrat and all round spoilt brat Lawrence Bourne III (Tom Hanks) seems to have it all. But things are about to change drastically for him. After his parents refuse to bail him out of his gambling debts Lawrence takes drastic measures and jumps aboard a Peace Corps flight to Southeast Asia.
