This programme looks at the war that ravaged Europe. For the first three years Germany dominated the continent, beginning with the Blitzkrieg on Poland, Norway, Denmark, Holland and Belgium to the fall of France. Followed by the long road back, when the allies went on the offensive and fought to free every inch of occupied Europe from Nazi rule, ending with the capitulation of Germany itself.
