Paul Soter writes and directs this romantic comedy starring Cillian Murphy and Lucy Liu. Neil (Murphy) is proprietor of an independent video rental store and a self-professed film geek who until now has always been content to live vicariously through his favourite noir films. His life is turned upside down when real-life femme fatale Violet (Liu) enters his life, bringing with her some of the drama and adventure he has hitherto watched so avidly on screen. Does Neil have what it takes to make the transition from passive observer to romantic hero?
