Review of West Bromich Albion's unforgettable 2007/08 season. After the heartbreaking playoff final defeat to Derby County the previous season, the Baggies were determined to make a return to the Premiership this campaign. The team started the season strongly and were league leaders at New Year, but inconsistent form during the first few months of 2008 cast doubts over their promotion credentials, until a good run of results in April sealed the Championship title. The Baggies also had a memorable FA Cup run, which ended at the semi final stage with a narrow defeat to Premier League high flyers, Portsmouth, at Wembley Stadium. This review features highlights of all the Baggies' matches in the Championship, League Cup and FA Cup, as well as interviews with manager, Tony Mowbray, and the players.
